Technical Director
The role of the Technical Director is to lead the overall soccer development of the club’s players and coaches.
The Technical Director should report to the Executive Director (General Manager, Executive Committee) on a day-to-day basis but attend meetings of the Board of Directors at its pleasure.
The Technical Director should ideally not directly coach players or teams, but instead focus on putting in place a framework and plan through which all the club’s coaches (staff or volunteer) can coach and develop the club’s player base collectively. This should include strategies for the development of the club’s coaching faculty (paid or volunteer).
The Technical Director should also have chief responsibility for high-level communication to the club’s customer base about program goals, benefits, and specifics, as they pertain to the club’s overall technical strategy.
Requirements
Minimum B1 educator's license
Club technical director and basic trainer courses are an asset
At least two years' experience in a technical management position involving management of a team of permanent, contract and/or volunteer staff
College diploma or experience in administrative management
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.)
Knowledge of Spordles and Teamsnap an asset
Good oral and written communication skills in both French and English
Strong interest in member services
Ability to analyze, synthesize and make decisions
Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities under tight deadlines
Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
Attitude as a team player, demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, dynamism and leadership.
Training in Respect at work and Respect and Sport - activity leader is an asset
Knowledge of Quebec soccer is a major asset
Specifically, the Technical Director should be responsible for:
The design of the club’s Technical Development Plan with the goal of achieving the highest level of the Canadian Licencing Program.
Design and plan the training sessions for all ages (unless an ATD is named for grassroots / Recreational League)
The design and oversight of all programs and soccer activities that execute the Technical Development Plan
Implementation and evaluation of annual and multi-year development plans for grassroots through to high performance programs.
Oversee the implementation of Long-Term Player Development
The design of the club’s Coach Development Plan (Support coaches)
The design and oversight of all coach education and development activities that execute the Coach Development Plan
The recruitment of all club coaches, and the assignment of coaching responsibilities therein
Assessment, appraisal, and due performance management (including dismissal if necessary) of all club coaches.
Development and management of all sport science / sport medicine partners and suppliers
Management of accurate implementation of the club’s annual technical budget (and contribution to its development for the preceding year) Implementation of and adherence to all club technical policies
External representation of the club in all technical matters
Field allocation schedules per season
Staff schedules (CDC and Teams)
Financial & budgetary knowledge with the inner workings of a Board of Governors.

Working conditions
The workplace is at the club office located at 11575, 26th Avenue, Montreal, but is not limited to this location;
Telecommuting is possible
An initial three-year term is offered, which is renewable
The work schedule is a minimum of 35 hours/week, on a flexible basis.
The candidate is expected to work evenings and weekends across the province.
Start date as soon as possible
Remuneration conditions are competitive and will take into account the experience and skills of the successful candidate.
