CSRDP - Message from Bruno

Dear Members,

I would like to announce that I have chosen not to renew my mandate as President of CSRDP effective November 29th, 2021. After 10 years of being President, I have decided to pass the torch to Costa Russo.

When I was first elected as President in 2011, we were on the brink of bankruptcy. Although we are a non-profit organization, the city was looking at closing us down if a new direction of the club had not been put into place. The members were not pleased with the organization as a whole and many had decided to leave.  

We worked very hard to restore the pride and identity of the club to bring it to the level that it has reached today. We built new relationships with various businesses within the community which allowed us to increase our Club Sponsorships resulting in keeping a low inscription fee and providing the best value package to each player (Adidas Brand, two uniforms, track suits, bag, soccer ball etc..) compared to other clubs.

We continuously challenged the City Counsellors to invest funds within the infrastructures of the borough for the youths of CSRDP. Our perseverance allowed us to have 11 outdoor synthetic fields as well as access to 2 indoor fully renovated Complexes. There is no club within the province that has access to the infrastructures that CSRDP have today.

During this period of time, CSRDP was awarded the Club par Excellence three (3) times out of the five (5) years it was nominated. The other two (2) times we finished second in voting. The award recognizes the Administration, Finance, Sportsmanship and overall on-field performance of a soccer club, and is the highest award granted by the Concordia Region.

The Canadian Soccer Association created a Recognition program and during the last two (2) years, the club has underdone a complete audit of its administration, finance, structure, infrastructure, and technical competencies and was awarded Provincial status. This means that CSRDP members have access to play on a yearly basis in Provincial Elite Championships such as AAA/LDP, which we have a record of eight (8 ) AAA/LDP teams registered.

I would like to thank the current CA members for respecting my decision and continuing the mission. The club is financially sound, and I am proud of all the accomplishments achieved throughout my tenure.

It’s the end of an era for me and the beginning of something new.
